Hot cakes are the proof of the pudding

Right: these genetically modified hot cakes can now reproduce themselves, saving the trouble of buying all that expensive wheat and processing it ... but beware - a troll owns the patent

The Intellectual Property Institute published two new titles this August, when most people were probably so busy holidaying that they missed the announcements. The two new titles are

* A European Perspective as to the Extent to Which Experimental Use, and Certain Other Defences to Patent Infringement, Apply to Differing Types of Research, by Bird & Bird's Trevor Cook (noted here by the IPKat);

* Ownership of Employee Inventions and Remuneration: a Comparative Overview, authored by the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute pairing of Rajesh Sagar and Aditya Nagarsheth (see the IPKat's comments here).

Rumour has it that there are still a few copies to be had at the original price, but they're selling like hot cakes so don't forget to buy yours now.


Fashion and IP: the conference

Also going well are advance bookings for CLT's forthcoming conference, Intellectual Property in the Fashion Industry, which will be held at The Hatton Conference Centre, London, on 27 September (full programme here). IPKat co-bloggie Jeremy will be there and hopes to see you too.
