LIMERICK COMPETITION; NEW IP BLOG ON THE BLOCK
Limerick competition
Having received a bundle of last-minute entries just before the deadline, the IPKat will be taking a little longer to consider the winner. The identity of the Limerick Laureate, winner of the free place on the CLT conference next Wednesday on IP in the Fashion Industry, will be unveiled tomorrow morning, together with a selection of some of the better entries.
Right: there will be bagfuls (or is it bagsful) of useful IP law for the fashion industries at next week's conference. See you there?
New IP blog on the block
English law firm Freeth Cartwright's IP&T department has launched its own weblog. Admittedly it's aimed at clients rather than IP/IT professionals, so the IPKat doubts he'll see any advice along the lines of "why not take a chance and infringe ..." or "death to all software patent owners".
The new blog rejoices in the name of Impact, which is snappily memorable and promises something that packs a punch. It's got lots of useful links and helpful information, too. Merpel adds, the blog runs under a Creative Commons licence, which means that you can make use of its contents without getting prior authorisation .. er, unless you can't.
If you like Impact, do tell Ann Critchell-Ward: you can email her here.
