Matthew Courtney

The IPKat records with great sadness the news of the death last weekend of Matthew Courtney, a young intellectual property lawyer in law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's London office.

Intellectual property practitioners, their clients and their service providers are more than just a collection of individuals and businesses focused on their own advantage: they are a community. We are all diminished by the death or the suffering of any one of us.

The IPKat joins the rest of the IP community in expressing his most sincere condolences to Matthew's family, his friends and his colleagues. May they be spared further sorrow.
