Forthcoming events

Thursday 8 March: BLACA (the British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association) has a panel session on The Resale Royalty Right: Victory for the Artist or Industry's Nightmare? Panelists are Joanna Cave (DACS), Simon Stokes (Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons) and Christopher Battiscombe (London Society of Art Dealers). The meeting is hosted by Berwin Leighton Paisner in their Adelaide House premises. Be there at 6.15pm. Non-members welcome (members can come, whether they are welcome or not ...).

Right: Henry Fuseli's The Nightmare is a nightmare for the art world no longer, since it is now in the public domain for all moral and economic purposes.

Tuesday 13 March: Copying Without Infringing - one day conference at the Cafe Royal, London. Details here. Excellent programme, great speakers and some really good places to have a coffee afterwards.

Left: introducing Copycat, the world's first surviving cloned cat.

Thursday 15 March: The Intellectual Property Institute is hosting a talk by Evie Kyriakides, who is coming all the way from Mars to speak on Fast-Moving Consumer Goods. Turn up at the London offices of law firm McDermott Will & Emery. Evie speaks at 5.00pm and is followed by refreshments. Let the IPI know you're coming first, though. Further details here.

Monday 19 March: another one-day conference at the Cafe Royal, Intellectual Property and Competition Law: the Complexities Demystified. Programme and booking details here. This programme has suddenly become much more exciting, now that Mr Justice Pumfrey has given his sparklingly exciting judgment in SanDisk v Sisvel, on which IPKat co-bloggie Jeremy will be saying some choice words.
