UN copycats?
One can have too much of a good thing. 26 April may be World Intellectual Property Day, but the IPKat has learnt that 23 April is the 12th World Book and Copyright Day.

'This year’s Day is focusing on the impact that books – especially when they are copyrighted – play in promoting not only education, economics, cultural creation and democratic participation, but freedom of expression and cultural diversity as well.The IPKat is all for the celebration of books, but he thinks that it’s unfortunate that the two UN bodies responsible for the days (UNESCO for 23 April and WIPO for 26 April) couldn’t coordinate their efforts a bit better.
In a message on the Day, UNESCO Director-General Koïchiro Matsuura said that copyright provides valuable “moral and heritage protection” to works and their authors and is particularly vital to encouraging cultural diversity.’
