The IPKat says "thank you"; New blog on the block ...

Another milestone, but a very gratifying one, is that yesterday afternoon the IPKat's email subscription list notched up its 1,500th member. The IPKat, Merpel, Tufty and all the crew say "thank you so very much for your continued support and involvement, which we really appreciate".

Right: The IPKat is never one to desert his post ...

Following the recent postings on this weblog, asking readers if they were interested in an African IP blog, it's probably no surprise that there is indeed a new blog on the block. This new blog is Afro-IP, and the idea is to post short, accurate and readable information concerning intellectual law, practice and business in Africa. This is not a political or lobbying blog, since we reckon that readers already have opinions of their own. It does however seek to be educative and informative, since it's better for people -- whatever their opinions -- to know more rather than less about the subjects on which they hold their opinions.

Afro-IP is still very much in its infancy, and it plans to add to its team in order to provide wider coverage. Posts can be in languages other than English too, where appropriate. The team also welcomes comments, which you can email here.
