World Intellectual Property Day: reminders!
With World IP Day -- Monday 26 April -- only a week and a half away, there's still time to book yourself in for one of the events which has been organised within the blogosphere in honour of the occasion.
The IPKat's own Cheese and Wine Celebrity Poetry Reception will be held between 5.00pm and 7.00pm at the London office of Olswang LLP, in beautiful downtown High Holborn, London. We already have nearly 120 people booked in but there's still space for a few more. If you'd like to join us, just click here for all the details. Admission is FREE. This event has been nobly sponsored by various members of the IP community. The IPKat thanks the following for their support:
* Azrights for the Red WineBarring snowstorms and volcanoes it should be a lovely event and a great opportunity to celebrate IP in the congenial company of one's friends, colleagues, deadly rivals etc. Do join us!
* Bristows for the Nuts and Nibbles
* Edward Elgar Publishing for the Soft Cheese
* LexisNexis for the Special Cakes
* Managing Intellectual Property for the White Wine
* Olswang LLP for the Sober Bits (tea, coffee, water etc)
* Thomson Reuters for the Hard Cheese
* Wood for the Alternative Beverages
On the same day, but somewhat earlier, is "Brands and the Cost of Corporate Conscience" a special IP Finance seminar at which the speaker is the multi-talented Marjolijn Vencken (Trouble in Paradise), with author, barrister and Appointed Person Amanda Michaels (Hogarth Chambers) in the chair. Doors open at 12.30pm and Marjolijn -- whose address at the MARQUES Conference last year caused such a stir -- speaks at 1pm. Like the IPKat's Cheese and Wine reception the venue is the London office of law firm Olswang LLP. Full details of the seminar, which is FREE to attend, can be found here. We're heading up towards the 60 mark, but there's still room for more and everyone's welcome.
The IP Finance weblog wishes to thank Olswang LLP for kindly providing the venue and Hogarth Chambers for supporting this event.
