CMS Group of Companies' Founder-Chairman passes away
Ramesh D. Grover, the Founder & Chairman of the CMS Group of Companies, passed away late Saturday night in Mumbai. He was 66 years old.
Highly respected in the Indian market, Grover started his career with IBM. After ten years with IBM, he started his own IT Services firm along with two other IBM executives, to support the machines that IBM left behind after their exit from India. In 1976, he founded this small set-up, "Computer Maintenance Services", commonly known as "CMS" Ever since, CMS Computers Ltd. has rapidly grown from a maintenance and outsourcing firm to a diversified conglomerate serving the IT and ITeS needs of the largest Indian and global enterprises in India.
For the last 61 years, Kaycee Industries, an integral part of CMS Computers Ltd., has been one of India's leading providers of electrical and electronic components, such as Rotary Switches, Rotary Cam Switches, Micro and Toggle Switches, Weather Tight Switches, Breaker Control Switches, Water Meters, Counters and Fuse Fittings.
In e-Governance, CMS is among the few partners for large ICT-based service delivery projects, which are operationalized in more than seven states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
In 2008, Grover partnered with the Blackstone Group to create CMS Infosystems, a leading IT & outsourced business services provider focusssing on Retail Banks, Insurance, Telecom, Retail, PSU and Government segments.
