HCL Infosystems implements NOC Project at ONGC
HCL Infosystems has completed a prestigious project from ONGC for deployment of Network and Security Operations Centre. The project is aimed at providing a complete IT infrastructure management solution for various business applications and services of ONGC and to strengthen the security management in today's times of increasing security risk.
As part of the order, HCL Infosystems has installed facilities to sensitize the problems across different technology layers in Network, IT and Communication Infrastructure, applications, etc. and to adopt corrective measures to fix them. HCL has also provided application and end-user response management solutions for various business applications and services of ONGC like ICE, EPINET, e-mail, Internet, SCADA, etc., apart from proactive alerting and root cause analyses.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Asija, Chief Operating Officer - Enterprise Business, HCL Infosystems, said, "Information technology is the need of the hour for increasing efficiency and productivity. We are glad to be associated with ONGC and this association will enable ONGC to move away from a reactive break-fix problem solving approach to a pro-active and preventive process of problem discovery, diagnosis and repair. The project entails providing network connectivity, internet access and other IT services for various applications; installation and timely upgrading the extensive network, IT & Telecom infrastructure. The project also involved implementation of ITIL process design and aligning the EMS tools and processes to enable ISO20000 certification. HCL Infosystems offers the advantages of simplified one point solution, reducing IT deployment and maintenance costs and managing risks involved in various IT operations.
