Ericsson, a leading telecom service provider is preparing for an imminent uptake in Managed Services in India by establishing first of its kind facility - Ericsson Regional Technical Center (RTC) to support its Global Services Delivery Organization in India.

Ericsson has set up four Regional Technical Centers in India - Gurgaon (NCR region) Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai to support north, west, east & south regions. RTC has been set up to provide managed services for 2G, 3G and (BWA) / TD-LTE technologies to the Indian operators at a pan-India level.

Regional Technical Center (RTC) has been established to provide technical support to Ericsson's various customers (key telecom operators) in India. The RTC provides remote delivery of network engineering functions by integrating people, tools, and processes for proactively managing and optimizing the networks in all possible domains like - 2G, 3G, MPBN, IN VAS, transport, packet core, circuit core, radio etc.

RTC is a big differentiating factor for Ericsson services organization in India in providing an extra edge to our customers. The end-to-end engineering service to the operators allows them both the economy of scale and the skill to manage their networks. Ericsson follows a standardized and industrialized approach with automation of tools & process to manage the vast networks. This delivery system helps Ericsson to be more proactive in designing, planning and optimization of telecom network on real time basis.

Ericsson currently manages 120,000 cell sites in India and with the current 3G deployment and forthcoming BWA / TD LTE rollouts in the country, we hope to secure more services business. Ericsson believes that RTCs will play a crucial role in helping increase its managed services business in India.
