The TDIL data centre has released the rupee symbol software, which is jointly developed by the Unicode Consortium and ISO. The new rupee symbol is said to be available in only Unicode. On the other hand, the PC manufacturers have unveiled that the symbol of the Indian rupee will appear on computer keyboards from January 2012. The rupee symbol will appear in the same row where the numerals and symbols of other currencies exist.
