Anonymous Target San Francisco's Rapid Transit System

Anonymous a hactivist group are creating so much problem for US, as they have claimed to hack facebook on November 5th . Beside it this group has involved on the top level of information security attack like they have released 7.4 GB of data from US law enforcement websites. These activities shows that they are not a kid and they have some values and morals.


Now what is the story of today, as the title of article suggest that anonymous hit San Francisco's rapid transit system, before going to explain the details of this attack I want you to know the background.

BART Shut down Cell Phone Service to Prevent a Protest


This is the root cause of this attack, Bay Area Rapid Transit system (BART) is a cell phone service provider has blocked their services on Thursday, which was an attempt to squash an organized protest.
The waves of protests is now a big challenge for governments, as the former Egyptian president ordered the cell phone service to be shut down during the peaceful protests they give an outstanding result. The same thing has happened on San Francisco to avoid from big protest BART blocked their services so the protesters unable to contact each other.

Anonymous Hacked BART Website

The main aim of blocking these services is to destruct the protesters and this is against the freedom, Anonymous gave a response, On Sunday afternoon, a link off BART's website to myBART.org apparently had been hacked. It showed a page featuring, among other items, the Anonymous logo -- a smirking mask above two crossed swords, all on a black background.


Anonymous claim this attack by using twitter pages and other groups, they said that this is a SQL injection and anonymous released 2000 usernames and plain text passwords, zipcodes, phone numbers and addreses.

Message of Anonymous to The People of San Francisco


People of San Francisco, join us Monday, August 15th at 5pm for a peaceful protest at Civic Center station to illustrate the solidarity with people we once knew and to stand up for your rights and those of your fellow citizens.
We will be wearing “blood” stained shirts for remembrance to the blood that is on the hands of the BART police. (Protest flier).
