Sony Tablet to release on Sept 17 in Japan
Sony Corporation is to release its first tablet computer on September 17 in Japan. The price for the Wi-Fi capable Sony Tablet 'S' series with a 9.4-inch display on the Android 3.1 platform is expected to be around 45,000 yen ($583) for a model with a 16-gigabyte data storage and 53,000 yen ($687) for the 32-gigabyte version, claimed the Company.
The Sony Tablet S series will hit store in September with the price set at about $499 for the 16-gigabyte model in US. The Sony Tablet S series will hit the European market at the end of September with a price tag of 479 yen ($684) for the 16-gigabyte model. The P series will be launched in November, the company shared.
Sony is believed to roll out its Wi-Fi tablet's 'P' series which is said to be capable of 3G mobile data connection via carrier NTT Docomo Inc., in October or November.
