Spectranet extends National Reach with Juniper Networks
Juniper Networks has announced that Spectranet has deployed an IP/MPLS network core running on the Junos operating system. The new infrastructure enables Spectranet to establish peering connections with MPLS provider and leverage its extensive network edge deployments in order to offer services across the country.
"There are a handful of IP/MPLS service providers that already have points-of-presence in every city and large town across the country, so rather than replicating their infrastructure, we are leveraging it and focusing on creating our service differentiation by offering some interesting overlay managed services, enabled by the Juniper core. Juniper devices provide us with the interoperability and reliability we need to aggregate the Tier-1 service provider networks, as well as advanced MPLS features to support service innovation and the scalability and low total cost of ownership which we need to meet our business objectives," said Udit Mehrotra, MD, Spectranet.
"To be successful as a Tier-1 network aggregator and local service provider requires top-notch infrastructure that delivers excellent quality-of-service while keeping a lid on costs. We are helping Spectranet to pursue its hybrid strategy, not only by providing a very advanced MPLS platform - the Juniper Networks MX Series - but also offering a pay-as-you-grow solution that minimizes upfront costs," said Ravi Chauhan, MD, India & SAARC, Juniper Networks.
