"As a conglomerate operating in various industries globally, we needed a powerful solution to help us reign in and make sense of a vast amount of information as well as have this data easily accessible on mobile devices. Our plan to augment our existing investment in SAP software will allow users to analyze data by customer, region or product whether in the office or while travelling. Access to consistent real-time data will improve our forecasting abilities as well as provide intelligence on how to redirect the business as needed based on recent events, customer relationships, product plans and market variations," said C. N. Ram, Chief Information Officer, Essar Group.
"We continue to see strong momentum and adoption of our latest innovations in in-memory computing technology, with SAP HANA, cloud and mobility across every aspect of our customer base, in every industry imaginable and in businesses of all sizes. Together with mobility solutions from SAP and Sybase and our BI solutions, SAP HANA is bringing a new real time to Essar Group. As India's first SAP HANA customer, Essar Group sets a perfect example for how others can leverage the SAP HANA platform in one of our fastest-growing markets," said Dr. Vishal Sikka, Member of the Executive Board, Technology and Innovation, SAP.
