Sony heads the way forward for HD, 4K, OLED Technologies
Sony's leadership in content creation and production solutions is believed to be unparalleled be it providing solutions for broadcasters moving to digital and HD digital file-based workflow or being the forerunner in future technologies like 4K and OLED. Sony claims to be well positioned to enable workflow innovation with Sony's XDCAM solutions, the next generation of file-based workflow. From the point of capture with Sony's state-of-the-art XDCAM cameras to file sharing and archival solutions, the possibilities are endless to transform the process and optimize every step of the workflow. The XDCAM family of solutions continues to grow in line with widespread adoption by the broadcast industry. The full range of XDCAM products and solutions are now available in India.
Another facet of Sony's broadcast technology portfolio is OLED monitors that have been garnering praise for their unrivalled picture quality and integrated functionality. Last month, the company extended its OLED range, with the launch of the BVM-F series. This new addition to the OLED family, which will be available in India from November this year, will further strengthen Sony's offering, and allow the company to offer a depth of products not currently available elsewhere.
Murakami Koichi, General Manager, Professional Solutions, Sony India, said, "Sony recognized the need to diversify its offering in addition to LCD, to provide a range of OLED monitors suitable for the varied demands of India's content creation market. The introduction of the new series will open up the possibility of OLED technology to a wider range of applications especially dedicated master monitoring and post-production in the broadcast industry."
A new chapter in 4K is revealed with Sony's revolutionary new 4K products like CineAlta. At the heart of the F65 camera is Sony's newly developed 8K sensor, which delivers pristine HD, 2K, and true 4K resolution today - and will go far beyond 4K in the future, as the industry needs evolve. The release of this camera delivers on its promise to derive true 4K resolution and beyond - at the point of image capture. This along with the installations of 4K digital cinema systems in India - such as in Guru Theatre in Madurai, Sony has set the trend for the exponential growth of 4K in India. The F65 will be available in the Indian market from January 2012.
"This will help the industry move rapidly to embrace the improvement in quality that digital cinema can offer," adds Koichi.
