Intel India hosts "The Cloud Summit 2011"
Intel India has hosted "Intel Cloud Summit 2011" in Mumbai, bringing together customers from across the Banking, Telecom, IT/ITeS and Public sectors. The common platform was aimed at highlighting the importance of Cloud and Intel Cloud Builder(s) Programme, the Intel - Open Data Center Initiative and Intel Cloud 2015 vision. The Summit featured a keynote by Kimberly S. Stevenson, Vice-President - IT, GM IT Global Operations and Services, Intel Corporation.
The Summit highlighted how Intelligent Connections are emerging through cloud, and the opening session IT "Operating the Cloud" opened a platform to discuss the future trends in Cloud Computing. The Summit also focussed on how the industry is working towards creating benefits of cloud computing to enterprises across the region. The Programme showcased Intel Cloud Builder(s)' reference architecture and had various demonstrations from the leading companies such as Microsoft, Dell and Fujitsu.
R. Ravichandran, Director - Sales, Intel South Asia, said, "Accelerated adoption and usage of cloud solutions across large enterprises, SMBs and Government have led to the development of a strong robust Cloud Tail end in India and to balance the play many managed services providers, Telco's, Data Centre Hosting companies and the local solution providers are actively building up 'Cloud' based solution delivery capabilities. He further added, "Cloud has not only increased the flexibility for end-customers but also increased the choice of products and services for customers."
The Summit also focussed on Intel's Cloud 2015 Vision and how Intel is bringing the cloud to reality by developing a cohesive set of open, well-defined cloud computing solutions across IT infrastructures.
