DIAT conducts 'Challenges in Cloud Computing' Workshop
Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) - a Deemed University has conducted a workshop on "Challenges in Cloud Computing" at the DAIT campus in Girinagar, Pune. The event was attended by DRDO scientists, leading Defence and Security Experts, Students and Prominent OEMs.
After the introductory talk by Dr. Prahlada (Vice Chancellor, DIAT) the keynote address was delivered by V S Mahalingam (Director, CAIR). Tarang Salgia (CTO, VPSI Business Unit, Uniken) later discussed the challenges of security in a cloud computing environment and showcased Uniken's cutting-edge, next-generation technology platform - Virtual Private Secure Internet (VPSI) - as a comprehensive framework for Secure Enterprise Cloud Applications and its relevance to Defence.
Salgia's talk covered various aspects of Private Secure Cloud Computing ecosystems, including risks, threats and solution requirements. He highlighted key advantages and challenges of setting up a private secure cloud infrastructure including end-point security, channel encryption, mutual authentication, multi-factor authentication (including biometric), data leakage prevention and data security threats from internal and external sources.
