Code Writing Competition introduced for Students
Google has rolled out Summer of Code programme, offering a stipend to university students to write code for open source projects. This programme is said to cover a period of three months.
Google has claimed that the accepted students will be paired with a mentor from the participating projects, gaining exposure to real-world software development and the opportunity for future employment in areas related to their academic pursuits. Best of all, more source code is created and released for the use and benefit of all.
Google has interacted with open source community to list out project ideas that can be pursued by students. Students are recommended to follow the Firm for all rules and regulations of the Competition. The last date to submit proposals is April 6.
