Windows 8 to come this Autumn

Microsoft has announced that its next-generation Windows 8 operating system will be launched this October at the annual Worldwide Partner Conference. The design of the software is similar to the tile interface on Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 mobile handset software. Similar to it, tiles in Windows 8 can be automatically updated to display information from apps on the computer's start screen, so a weather app can tell the user that it's forecast to be sunny without requiring them to open the application.
The company shared that while the new user interface is designed and optimized for touch, it works equally well with a mouse and keyboard.
It is claimed that the upcoming Windows 8 will bring in the next level of integration for both computers and mobile devices making absolute sense for the launch of all versions simultaneously. Besides the launch of a desktop version of Windows 8 operating, it is highly probable that Microsoft might also look at announcing the Windows 8 Mobile and RT versions alongside.
Microsoft previewed Windows 8 at the Computex show in Taipei on tablets, notebooks and desktop systems made by Dell Inc, Asustek Computer Inc, and Quanta Computer Inc. using chips and technology from ARM Holdings Plc, Qualcomm Inc, Texas Instruments Inc. and Nvidia Corp. Besides this, Samsung and HP have already revealed their plans for manufacturing Windows 8 devices and Samsung will be launching devices based on the Windows RT operating system in October.
