Satellite TV Provides You with Choices
Now that you have your brand new flat screen television with plasma capabilities and high definition graphics and a brand new package of channels from your satellite TV provider, you will be wanting to get in some good TV-watching time in the near future. But between work, family obligations, exercise, and other hobbies, it can be difficult to get to all of the programming that you want to watch, especially when episodes or movies air during times that you have other conflicts. One can start to wonder if there is any purpose in having the hundreds of channels that satellite TV offers at all there is no way you can possibly watch all of the programming that they show!
But the reason that people like satellite TV is because of the diversity of options, not the amount. Obviously, no one is going to watch all of the shows on the hundreds or thousands of channels that they get broadcast into their living rooms on a daily basis. Even unemployed couch potatoes will probably only get through about a tenth of the content that they have at their fingertips everyday. Instead, the benefit is that when you have a few hours to kill, or when you are looking to unwind after work with a mindless television show, or when you want to watch a movie with your significant other, you will have a wealth of options from which to choose. You will not be stuck between watching yet another rerun of Everybody Loves Raymond and I Know What You Did Last Summer 2, which is already 30 minutes into the film. In that moment that you turn on the television, you will have hundreds of options, dozens of which you would like to watch. You will never find yourself in the situat ion of flipping through the channels, realizing that nothing's on. Because something always will be. With all of the different options, you can almost construct your perfect, ideal TV channel with one show from MTV, another from Shotime, another from HBO, and another from the Lifetime Movie Network. It is almost like personalized TV.
This major benefit to having a satellite TV package is only enhanced by DVR technologies. DVR is a digital recording device that functions like a user-friendly VCR did only a decade ago. You can record any program you want. But instead of having to buy a tape and set a confusing timer, all you have to do is set up the recording ahead of time with your remote control. This will take about 30 seconds. What's more, you can record two or three programs at once, and the amount of memory you have on your DVR is incredibly high so that hundreds of hours of programming can accumulate before you need to delete anything. So now, when you sit down to watch TV, you will be able to choose from shows you have pre-recorded as well. What's more, the shows that you do record will retain the high definition quality. Sure beats a VCR!
