Developed Vetting (DV) Jobs

Security Clearance Level: DV Developed Vetting DV is the most comprehensive and highly expensive form of UK security vetting, and is therefore only required for the most sensitive appointments and tasks, involving long-term and uncontrolled access to top-secret material. The DV Security clearance level is made up of both the Basic Clearance and Security Clearance checks plus: the completion of a DV supplement questionnaire Security check including a criminal records and credit reference checks, and a Security Service records check a financial check the checking of references (social, employment, education etc) in writing, by telephone or by interview from personal friends, tutors and employers as appropriate a detailed interview with the person needing the clearance conducted by a vetting officer Once you've passed the interview successfully, Personnel Security will carry out enquiries to ensure you can be trusted with sensitive Government information. Presuming these are satisfactorily completed, you will be granted a Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. How long will it take before I am DV cleared? A DV will normally take a minimum of six months on average to complete. The officer assigned your case will keep in touch during their enquiries and do their best to let you know how things are progressing. Because of the time the process takes, you shouldn't hand in your notice to your present employer until DV clearance is granted. DVs are usually re-investigated after five years and every seven years if there is a continuing need, depending on circumstances. They are renewed annually depending on the employer, and circumstances of the employment. DV Cleared Jobs If you are DV cleared and think, either now or in the future, that your job does not involve the level of security clearance appropriate for a DV post, you should discuss this with your line manager, or discuss potential new security clearance jobs / DV posts with one of our recruitment consultants. Typical DV security cleared jobs can be for positions within the MoD, government, defence and aerospace. How do I get security clearance? First you need a sponsor. Individuals and companies cannot ask for a security clearance unless you are sponsored, and you will not be sponsored unless you are contracted (or are in the process of being contracted) to work on one or more specific MOD classified projects.
