For a bibliophile, parting away with books is one tough proposition. A well stocked and a well arranged library of books makes sense in this case.
Mark a room as reading room
The reading room will not only have a library which will house all those precious books in the shelves, but will give a very scholarly and erudite feeling to the entire house. So mark one room and work on the interiors of the room accordingly. Your library room should have a beautiful table lamp, a very nice study table and a pen stand, a socket to connect your desktop or tablet to wi fi connection.
Plan the shelves
Apart from arranging the books in alphabetical order think about things like in priority of which books you frequently read and what genre or authors interest you the most etc. This will make you recollect about where a particular book is placed. Also, this will let you arrange shelves in order.
Make it well ventilated
Ventilation is very important, both for the reader as well the books. Allow enough light to enter the library in the day time. Arrange lights so that there is enough light in the room since shelves might block more light than the usual empty walls.
Periodically clean the shelves
If not cleaned, books may gather dust. This is not healthy for books only. Avoid keeping too many dog eared books in your library. They would take away the charm from the well arranged library.
