Install VLC 3.0.0 in Linux Mint and Ubuntu Based Distro

VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

Access:
 * Support HDS (Http Dynamic Streaming) from Adobe (f4m, f4v, etc.)
 * New SMB access module using libdsm
 * Screen capture plugin for Wayland display
 * Support decompression and extraction through libarchive (tar, zip, rar...)
 * Improvements of cookie handling (share cookies between playlist items,
   domain / path matching, Secure cookies)

Decoder:
 * OMX GPU-zerocopy support for decoding and display on Android using OpenMax IL
 * Support 4:4:4 chroma sampling with VDPAU hw acceleration
 * Support for ARIB B24 subtitles
 * Support for Daala video

I should point out that VLC 3.0 is a version still in development (which in addition to containing several bugs in the future could include other new features) currently do not know the release date as possible.


To install VLC 3.0.0 in Linux Mint and Ubuntu 14.10, ubuntu 14.04, ubuntu 13.10, ubuntu 13.04 and ubuntu based distro using ppa, open a new Terminal window and bash (get it?) in the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/master-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc
