Bluestar Linux Desklite Enlightenment is an open source Linux distribution built around the beautiful Enlightenment desktop environment and based on the Arch Linux operating system. Being based on Arch Linux, Bluestar Linux provides users with a rolling-release distro that is optimized for performance and features a wide variety of always up-to-date applications.

Default applications

Default applications include the SeaMonkey Internet suite (web browser and email client), Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, Deluge BitTorrent client, FileZilla FTP client, Skype, PacmanXG package manager, Leafpad text editor, Viewnior image viewer, GIMP image editor, BleachBit system cleaner, VLC Media Player, SMPlayer video player, and the entire LibreOffice office suite.

Features the Enlightenment window manager

The live session uses the latest version of the Enlightenment window manager and provides users with a clean desktop experience comprised only of a dock (application launcher) placed at the bottom of the screen.

Users can use the dock to quickly switch between virtual workstations, as well as to access a calendar, language settings, network connections, system update settings, the main menu, brightness settings, battery and temperature applets.

In the Enlightenment desktop environment, the main menu can also be accessed by left-clicking anywhere on the desktop. It can be used to navigate the entire file systems, launch installed applications, configure the desktop, take screenshots, cleanup windows, access system functions, and important system settings.
