We present the CPU-X portable software for Linux can provide a viable alternative to the famous CPU-Z in Windows.

Repositories of major Linux distributions are many software and tools that can provide detailed information on our system. Many of these software / tools are command-line, the use of which is especially popular for new users, fortunately, there are also useful applications that provide functionality similar to the famous CPU-Z of Microsoft Windows. For example, we can install the CPU or I-Nex-G software to provide a graphical user interface and features like CPU-Z, alternatively we can also use the software portable CPU-X.

CPU-X is an open source project, written in C with GTK + graphical interface, can offer a portable version of the popular Linux CPU-Z. With CPU-X we have detailed information on our processor and motherboard, in the future the software will also include other information such as RAM, graphics card and so on.

Unlike CPU-G and I-Nex, CPU-X will not have to do any setup in such a way that it can be saved and used for example in a usb pendrive.
CPU-X is available for Linux in portable mode (with pre-compiled binaries) in the GUI version for GTK + or KDE desktops in version nonGTK.

Just download the portable version of CPU-X from this page, extract the tar.gz file and double-click the file to the CPU-X i686 (32bit) or x86_64 (64Bit) to launch the software.
