ASUS unveils ZenFone 2 – features 64 bit Intel processor and 4GB of RAM
ASUS has taken wraps of its latest ZenFone 2 smartphone at its dedicated CES 2015 event in Las Vegas. The company’s chairman also announced that they are now shipping over 1.5 million ZenFone smartphones a month. ASUS ZenFone 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and comes with a 72% screen-to-body ration, which means that the display occupies more space in the body rather the bezels. It has a layer of Gorilla Glass 3, which protects the smartphone from scratches and minor sniffs. Under the hood, there’s a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor powering the smartphone and ASUS says that it is up to 3.1 times faster than some of the quad-core competitors. The GPU performance is also claimed to be 8.1 times quicker and it does support OpenGL 3.0. The spotlight, however, is on the random access memory of the smartphone, which is about 4GB -making it the first smartphone to feature such a configuration. There’s a 13 megapixel rear camera and it is equipped with the PixelMaster technology, which according the company allows you to take better low light photographs that are up to 400% brighter than what the previous generation was capable of capturing.
