Gemalto claims its Sim Cards are secure despite security breach by NSA and GCHQ

Dutch Manufacturer who are in the middle of a huge hacking storm after former NSA contractor Edward Snowden came forward and leaked the news that, NSA and GCHQ hackers breached the company's servers and steal encryption keys used to protect the privacy of mobile communications by billions of people.


Gemalto today released a statement that "Initial conclusions already indicate that Gemalto SIM products (as well as banking cards, passports and other products and platforms) are secure and the Company doesn’t expect to endure a significant financial prejudice."

The full report of this investigation will be presented on Wednesday spokes person has added. It will be a fiery press conference because the documents leaked by the whistleblower are clearly indicates that the company's server has been hacked. Now it's very hard for the company's executives to make people beleive that their Sim's are secured.

Some major telecom companies like T-Mobile,AT&T, Sprint all are the premier buyers of Sim cards from Gemalto. After them the company supplies Sim cards to some of the major European carriers. It is believed that there are around 1.5 billion Sim cards manufactured and supplied after this breach, that are currently active.
