network  nodes.the  hosts  file  is  just  like  any  other  computer  file  that 

is  used  by  the  os  to map  hostnames  and  domain  name  on  their 

corresponding  IP  address.whenever  you  block certain  website  using 

hosts  file  you  point  it  to  the  ip  address 127.0.0.1 which  in  fact  is  te 

ip  of   your  own  local  computer  so , whenever  you  type  the  url of  a

perticular  website  for  which  an  entry  is  present  in  hosts  file  ,your 

computer  load  the  ip  127.0.0.1  instead  of  origunam  ip  of  that  websites.

procedure  to  block any   website
step :1)  first  of  all   Nevigate to  this  location   C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc  (  c  is  the  drive  where  your  window  installed) see bellow  picture.

 

step:2)  simply  when you  find  above location  simply Open hosts file with any text editor like notepad.it  looking like  bellow  picture.



step:3)  now after open  host  file   You will see these two lines in the file

 1: 127.0.0.1       localhost

 2: ::1             localhost

step:4)  Now Append this line with 127.0.0.* and the website address you want to block.

For example

 2: 127.0.0.1       localhost

 3: ::1             localhost

 4: 127.0.0.2        www.adult.com

step:5)  if  you  want  to  block  many  website  Like this I have blocked many malicious and unwanted website which has the potential to infect my system :
