Bing Will Reward Seattle Seahawks Fans For Using Its Search Engine
Bing is hoping to score some new users for its search engine through a program announced today that targets fans of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.
The program, called Rewards powered by Bing, is basically the existing Bing Rewards platform customized for the Seahawks organization and its fans. By signing up at bing.com/seahawks, fans will be able to earn credits when they use Bing’s search engine. The program will offer instant rewards like discounts on concessions and pro shop purchases, plus entries into sweepstakes for prizes such as:
- 2016 Seahawks Season Tickets
- Autograph Seahawks gear (footballs, jerseys, helmets)
- VIP home game parking passes for each Seahawks home game
- Road trip to the Seahawks vs. 49ers game on October 22
- etc.
The partnership isn’t likely to create some sudden and noticeable surge in searches on Bing, but the Seahawks are known for having one of — if not the — most loyal fanbases in the NFL. (Disclaimer: including me.) The team’s two straight Super Bowl appearances has grown that fanbase far outside just the Pacific Northwest — four Seahawks jerseys were among the league’s Top 25 highest sellers in June, according to NFLShop.com.
Existing Bing Rewards members can sign up for the Seahawks program and continue to earn credits as they normally do. By signing up for the Seahawks program, though, users will also be eligible for the additional Seahawks-related offers.
This is the first time Bing has customized its reward program to offer specific prizes for a third party.
Bing has been a sponsor/partner of the Seahawks for several years now. We’ve written previously about the very noticeable presence that Bing has had at Seahawks home games.
