SecurityTube Python Scripting Expert Course Complete (SPSE)
Hey all! After having finished all of the material, the majority of the exercises, and the final exam, I am glad to say I have passed the SPSE. Having officially completed the entire thing, there were a few things that I wanted to say that I didn't cover in my first review. I agree with this post that the student forums offered through SPSE are garbage! Further, I agree with this post that the quality of the videos isn't that great as well. Actually, when I started taking the course you could find all of the training videos online for free (they've since been removed from YouTube, but I'm sure they are still out there), so they aren't even really worth paying for. That said, the exam certification was worth paying for, and here's why. It's a timed exam, and they roll the questions every three weeks, such that I can't give someone the same scripts I used to pass 3 weeks from now! They provide you with 4-5 questions, and you have to solve 2-3 of them in under 6 hours. Granted, I solved the necessary amount of challenges easily with an hour and a half, but the time constraint does make you nervous and work hard for those solutions. I highly encourage you to check out my template and training repo derived from my experiences with the SPSE class. I think my original analysis still stands, this is a good paid certificate if your looking for that, way better than some other Python courses, but ultimately there is such quality material on The Internet for free that if your just looking to learn then you shouldn't be paying for a course!!
