Cracking and Resetting Windows password using Kali linux live

Hi there Cyber Lizzrds..! Today I’m gonna show you how to hack and reset a Windows password using a KALI LINUX live USB or CD.
There are many ways by which you can reset a Windows password like by using Softwares like KON-BOOTOphcrack and some other techniques.
Generally, in Windows, Password files and Usernames are stored in SAM files. So, I’m just gonna get started :

First of all, you need to download Kali Linux ISO file and make a bootable USB drive. You can download the ISO file here. And to create a Bootable KALI LINUX USB, you can use Universal USB installer from here.

Okay now plug in your Bootable USB drive and make sure you change the boot priority to USB, and fire up KALI LIVE(forensic mode). If prompted, default Username is toor and password if root.
Now open up terminal and type:
cd /media/
ls
(here you’ll have your drive no. or partition no., copy this)
now type :
cd “paste your partition no. here”/Windows/System32
Rename Utilman.exe to Utilman.old by typing :
mv Utilman.exe Utilman.old
now copy cmd.exe>Utilman.exe by typing :
cp cmd.exe Utilman.exe
After doing all this, just reboot the system and fire up Windows from your hard drive.

After opening Windows, you’ll be promted with the password screen, you’ll see Ease of access button on the bottom left corner of your screen, hit that it’ll open up cmd…. We’re halfway through now at this point 😀
After opening cmd, type:
explorer.exe
Wait for a couple of sec. until the loading finishes..
Now reset the password using net user commands by typing :
net user
Now it’ll pop-up the accounts that are available on the PC at that time, choose the account whoose password you wanna change and type :
net user *
After this, it’ll ask you to enter a new password, you can change the password from here or you can just skip by pressing enter if you just want to remove the current password…
Once done, close the cmd window and log in to the account with the password you’ve choosen and Voila..!! You’re In… 😀
