Philippine Navy to Receive AW159s
Finmeccanica has been awarded a contract to supply the Philippine Navy with two AgustaWestland AW159 helicopters. The 100-million-euro deal calls for the delivery of the aircraft from Finmeccanica Helicopter Division’s Yeovil Plant in the U.K. in 2018. It includes training and multi-year support.
Both helicopters will be equipped with mission equipment and sensors primarily for anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare roles. They will also be capable of performing roles in search and rescue, maritime security and maritime surveillance.
