{{inuse|date=2016-03-26}} Kik has recently become a popular app among teens, but it is limited to mobile only. For those who would like to keep in touch with friends but cannot access a mobile device at the time or cannot use Wi-Fi, a solution is available. Read on to find out more.

== Steps ==
=== Manymo ===
# Sign up for a Manymo account or log in. Visit the [https://www.manymo.com Manymo website]. At the top of the screen should be a slim maroon bar with white text. Click on the white print reading either "Sign up" or "Log in". Then, if you are signing up, type in the required information. This includes your first and last name, an email (to verify your identity) and a password, which you need to type in twice to confirm. Then, check the small box next to "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" and click the blue "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the screen. If you are logging in, type in your login credentials (email and password), choose if you want the computer to remember your account (not recommended on shared computers) and click the blue "Log In" button at the bottom of the screen.
# Verify your account (only if you just signed up). If you already have an account and have logged in, skip this step. Once you have clicked the sign up button, a new page will open. It will read, "A message with a confirmation link has been sent to your email address. Please open the link to activate your account." Log into your email and find the email from Manymo. Click on the enclosed link to activate your account.
#* If you do not receive the email, visit the [http://ift.tt/1MslsJp Manymo email verification page], where you can reenter your email to receive the required link.
# Download the Kik apk. In order to launch Kik, you will need to have the Kik apk (Android Package File) downloaded to your computer. To do this, click [http://ift.tt/1Pxo43j here]. Click on the green "Download APK" button located above the array of Kik screenshots. Wait until it has finished downloading, but do not open the file. Be sure your computer has enough space for the file, which is 38.3 MB.
# Launch the emulator with Kik. Click the white text saying "Launch Emulators" on the slim maroon bar at the top of the screen. Then, you will be given an array of emulators, each varying in size. Above all the emulator choices (to the right) will be a small option saying "Launch with: App". Click on this (or [http://ift.tt/1MslsJr this]).
#* Click the white "Browse" button underneath the "Upload App" heading. Go to your downloads folder in your file explorer, and find the file ''Kik_v9.11.0.5166_apkpure.com.apk''. Click the blue "Continue" button to move on to the next page. Select the size of the emulator you want (smaller is recommended for slower computers) and wait for the emulator to automatically launch Kik.
# Log into Kik (or sign up). When you launch Kik, you will be greeted with a screen with two options- to sign up or log in. To log in, type in your login credentials (these will be your email/username and password). Click the "Login" button at the bottom of the screen and wait until the verification page comes up. You will be required to either solve a CAPTCHA or a puzzle that will present you with an array of pictures. You will be given the name of an item and you must click the pictures that include that item (this verifies that you are not a bot). To sign up, type in the required information (username, email, password, name, etc.) and click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the screen. Pass the verification test to open up your account.
# Use Kik. Text your friends, use the web features, etc. Besides texting friends, you can use the web features such as Image, Video and GIF Search, Kik Points, Smiley Shop and more. When texting, you can send smileys, pictures, videos, stickers, memes and more. You can change your profile name and picture as well. Instead of touch screen, you use the mouse, but it is exactly like the mobile app.

=== Bluestacks ===
# Download Bluestacks if you have not done so already. Visit the [http://ift.tt/1Pxo17z Bluestacks website], where the download should start automatically. A box asking if you would like to save the file or cancel the download will pop up. Select the "Save File" option and wait until the download finishes, which should take roughly one to five minutes, depending on the speed of your computer.
#* Once the download has finished, open Bluestacks and wait until it finishes initializing. Set up the required settings until Bluestacks is ready for use. Be sure your computer can handle the file size of the application, as it is 262 MB.
# Download Kik to Bluestacks if you have not done so already. In the search bar at the top of the home screen, type in "Kik". Click on the Instagram icon to open it in Google Play. Then, select the green "Install" button and wait until installation is complete, then open the app.

=== Andyroid ===
# Download and install Andyroid if you have not done so already. Visit the [http://www.andyroid.net Andyroid website] and click the green download button at the bottom of the screen. It will automatically download whichever emulator goes with your computer system. Wait it to finish downloading, then click on the file to begin the installation. Follow the installation steps until you have finished the process.
#* Andyroid does come with the following system requirements: Windows 7 or 8 or x64, the newest Mac OS (or you might run into bugs), at least 3GB of RAM (to run the software without it freezing) and more than 20GB of hard drive space. Do know that it will work on older OS X but may crash more frequently. Additionally, your video graphics card must be up to date with an updated driver and OpenGL ES 2.0 capable video card. Most cards fall into this category so if you have a relatively new computer you don't need to worry about this.
# Open the Google Play Store and download Kik. At the bottom of the screen will be a small Play Store icon. Click on this twice. You will then be prompted to login to your Google Play account so that you can successfully download Kik and so Google can sync your personal account onto Andyroid. If you already have Kik downloaded on that account, it may sync all of your apps automatically and you won’t have to manually download it. If Kik Messenger hasn't been automatically installed, click the search icon in Google Play and type in "Kik" or "Kik Messenger". Find Kik in the list of results and click the "Install" button, then wait until it finishes downloading and open the app.
# Log into Kik (or sign up). When you launch Kik, you will be greeted with a screen with two options- to sign up or log in. To log in, type in your login credentials (these will be your email/username and password). Click the "Login" button at the bottom of the screen and wait until the verification page comes up.
