Cray, Deloitte team up on supercomputer-powered threat analytics
US supercomputing giant Cray and professional services firm Deloitte have unveiled a threat analytics service.
The subscription-based service claims to offer high-speed supercomputing power to help organizations find holes in their networks. The aim is to help organizations build risk profiles in an effort to combat against cyberattacks.
The hope is that the supercomputer-as-a-service model can actively prevent against attacks -- rather than stocking up on cybersecurity insurance and simply letting attacks happen.
Cray said its offering is faster and more powerful than already-established services. It can run multiple analyses at the same time and on a simple system that takes advantage of Cray's supercomputing power.
The offering now competes in the threat analytics service space alongside IBM, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
