LXLE 16.04.1 Eclectica is Released, Lubuntu Linux Operating System suitable for low-end Systems
LXLE's is built upon Ubuntu Mini LTS releases. Lubuntu-core is used as a starting point. This version is based on 16.04.1
LXLE (Lubuntu Extra Life Extension) is an open source operating system based on the Lubuntu Linux distribution and using LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) as its main graphical desktop environment.
Based only on LTS (Long Term Support) releases of Lubuntu
The project is always derived from LTS versions of the Lubuntu Linux operating system, distributed as a Live DVD ISO image for 64-bit ardware platforms. They can be burned onto DVD discs or USB flash drives of 2GB or higher capacity.
It provides users with a standard boot menu from where they can easily start the live environment with default options or in safe graphics mode by forcing the VESA framebuffer, test the computer's RAM for errors, boot an existing OS from the first disk, as well as to install the distribution without testing it (not recommended).

All software has been updated to their latest stable versions available for Ubuntu 16.04.1. Added PPA's ensure up to date apps of some of the most popular software such as LibreOffice. Overall the apps has been streamlined and slimmed. Even with the inclusion of three small Assistive Technology programs like a magnifier and onscreen keyboard.
This version of LXLE was pretty difficult. A number of Gnome apps had to be replaced with their Mate twin application to maintain a consistent user interface. Many programs and solutions had to come from many different sources to make 16.04.1 of LXLE possible. A very eclectic OS. Hence the name, Eclectica.
