5kplayer Portable (Music and Video Player)
"5KPlayer, with its compact multi functions and quick user accommodation, is currently my best choice on Windows 10. ...5KPlayer makes the difference in some fields like dealing with UHD videos compared with other classic media players." —Rahul Gupta, CrunchyTricks.com (Jun 2016)
"It would not hardly play 4K video at all for me, while the KM Player does it quite well. It even stuttered with 1920 X 1080 video at 28 Mbps." —Stephen McDonald (a user), DPReview.com (Apr 2016)
"Searching... a lot of media players pop out: Media Player Classic, GOMplayer, Potplayer ... None of them is enough when I've used VLC. My search ended with 5KPlayer, which is a innovative and unique media player that is worthy of recommendation. " —Pushkar Kathayat, TechGeekers.com (May 12, 2016 )5kplayer is a free 4K/H.265/HEVC video player, a mixture of free (MKV) HD video player, music player, AirPlay media streamer and online video downloader.
H.265 vs H.264 (or MPEG-4 part 10). Informally speaking, H.265 video is a kind of high quality video using HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) as the video compression standard. We naturally associate H.265 with 4K content, but it also supports 8K UHD resolutions up to 8192×4320.
