Photos: Robot boats, UAVs and subs on show as Royal Navy looks at future of defence
The Royal Navy is testing out more than 50 autonomous vehicles in a major demonstration of marine robotic systems.
Unmanned Warrior 16 brings together 40 companies and international allies to showcase remote technology including drones, robot submarines and boats. It is held off the coast of west Scotland and west Wales.
Royal Navy Fleet Robotics Officer Commander Peter Pipkin said: "This is a chance to take a great leap forward in maritime systems -- not to take people out of the loop, but to enhance everything they do, extending our reach and efficiency using intelligent robotics at sea."
