Google App now organizes cards into 2 categories: interests & upcoming events
Google announced new updates to its app today. Google app cards will now be organized into two categories – one that includes current interests and another for upcoming events.
“Starting today, in the Google app on Android (and coming soon to iOS), your cards will be organized into two sections,” writes Google product manager Fred Brewin on the Google Search Blog, “A feed that keeps you current on your interests like sports, news, and entertainment, and a section for your upcoming personal info, like flights, appointments and more.”
Google says a user’s feed will become more relevant the more they use Google. Also, in addition to the “Customize” option in the settings menu, Google has added a card that lets users choose specific topics of interests to better personalize app content.
The cards categorized as “Upcoming” will work as a dashboard, listing things like a user’s daily schedule, commute times, and even package delivery updates – details the app pulls from other Google products in use.

Google says the updates are rolling out today in the U.S. on Android – and will be coming soon to iOS.
