33 Astrophysicists and Physics Minds Defend Inflation Theory in Online Debate

There’s an interesting back-and-forth going on for a few months now, panning out in online letters and published articles in Scientific American. Beginning back in February with “Pop Goes the Universe” by Anna Ijjas, Paul J. Steinhardt, Abraham Loeb, essentially arguing against inflation theory. A number of opponents to that article – 33 in fact – responded in kind with their own Scientific American article, here. The original trio of authors (those of the “Pop” article) then offered their own follow-up rebuttal, and further FAQ explanation of their thinking. Fascinating stuff!
