Machines have a decisive advantage because, you may call, they have steady hand. Humans are vulnerable because we cannot keep the similar vigilance required to play with the machines, even if we understand chess as well as machines do, even if we can survive the brute force of calculation. At the end of the day, the pressure on the human player facing the machine is simply unbearable.

This was 10 years ago now (article) and it happen 20 years ago… “Chess champion loses to computer – and- IBM please open up Deep Blue.” At this point can’t Watson just tell us about this or can’t we emulate Deep Blue as an app or in web browser? Any way, Garry has a new book. IBM did publish the moves, so that’s a good start (Replay the games / archive.org).

Just an opinion here, if a machine beats a person, so historically, like Deep Blue did, how about we agree, 10 years to open it up?
