TILTing Perspectives 2017

Save the date for the 5th conference TILTing perspectives!

Established 10 years ago, TILTing perspectives is a scientific bi-annual conference organized by the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT).

It gathers researchers, practitioners, policy makers and the public in general with the aim of discussing topics of current interest at the intersection of law, technology, and society. 

The theme of this year's conference is ‘Regulating a connected world’ and it will take place between 17 until 20 May at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. 

The three-day conference will gather almost 110 speakers and features five parallel program tracks: intellectual property, privacy, data science, health, and PLSC Europe (Private Law Scholars Conference). The conference also includes an alumni track, the presentation of the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) privacy paper award and a visit to the ‘mirror room’, an experience aiming to encourage awareness regarding how technology enters in private life because the “visitors are watched and monitored without them knowing”. 

Some of the keynote speakers are Maciej Szpunar and John Golden (intellectual property track); Christopher Slobogin and Gary T. Marx (privacy and PLSC Europe track); Flis Henwood and Irene Schluender (health track); and Sean McDonald and Solon Barocas (data science track).
