3D Printed Aliens M41A Pulse Rifle

Meatoburreato Cosplay recently completed a replica of the M41A pulse rifle seen in Aliens. The build features 3D printed parts and sound effects. He explains:

This was a scratch build with all parts being first designed and then 3d printed.

The rifle uses the same processor has the motion detector, namely 72MHz Cortex _m4 on a Teensy 3.2 board. About 20 UK pounds
I used this because it has a largish memory and a library which allows sound bites to be converted and included in the program. So all sounds are stored in, and played directly from the processor, no SD card or sound card needed.

This drives a small class D amplifier and a transducer. The transducer is glued to the inside of the gun so the whole gun acts as a speaker.

It’s hard to believe all the individual parts shown in the below photos came together into one finished piece.
