Girls of Steel! Interviews with an All Girls Vex Robotics Team #INWED17 #RaisingProfiles @WES1919

For #INWED17 there’s a lot of really great profiles and stories out there – some have a higher profile than others, but I really dig the grassroots. I love reading about stories at the local level, and the inspiring lives behind them. So I was happy to stumble upon these interviews by prototype-to-market company Nexus IE based in Cambridgeshire, England, with the Vex Robotics team from East Barnet School nicknamed the Girls of Steel! This is the team that won VEX Robotics UK Nationals earlier this year before going on to compete at the 2016-2017 World Championships last month. These stories & interviews are really inspiring and you can tell each of the members from this team will go on to do great things! Congrats to them individually and as a team for their past and future accomplishments.

With Nexus IE MD Julie Dean being an advocate for Women in Engineering, Nexus IE are eager to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day #INWED17 on June 23rd. We couldn’t think of a better way to support the message of encouraging young people and women into a male dominated industry than by introducing you to some inspiring females who are doing just that.

Here’s a bonus interview with MA candidate Laura Tuck whose goal post-graduation is to join the design engineering team at Dyson:

And thanks to Nexus IE for sharing these inspiring stories on their blog.
