Nebula Isn’t Scorned in This Guardians of the Galaxy Cosplay
Cosplayer AmberSkies, a.k.a. Amber, undertook an intense build in the weeks before the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. She worked with Marvel to make the first screen accurate version of Nebula’s updated costume from the movie. The process started small. Amber says it began with “a pile of fabric and belts from Goodwill.” She devoted countless hours to the build over a period of five weeks. With the fabric aspects, buckles, straps, and belts in addition to the special makeup, it’s no wonder it took so long.
She shared some specific notes about the boots, which you can see a photo of below.:
I meticulously painted the detailing and shapes on these with puffy paint (haha) then went back with a drybrush of acrylic paints in various purples and browns to add the depth and highlights and shadows. The buckle and straps are vinyl strapping and worbla decked out to fit the look. The boots are originally a pretty deep red leather that I found on eBay second hand for nice and cheap
