New Approaches to the Orphan Works Problem symposium is taking place on 23 June 2017 at Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM) of Bournemouth University. The innovative solutions to the requirement of diligent search established in the legislation and the outcomes of the EnDOW project will be discussed. UKIPO is inviting bids for the research into the effectiveness of the UK’s enforcement framework. The research is divided into two parts. The first one is aimed to assess the processes of enforcing IPRs and, depending on the outcomes of this research, the second one will provide recommendations regarding the current framework. There will be an open meeting to discuss the research tender on 5 July 2017 at 2 pm. The complete bids should be sent before 26 July 2017 at 5 pm. More information, here.
The Intellectual Property Lawyer’s Organisation (TIPLO) Dinner Meeting is taking place on 18 July 2017 at the House of Lords in London. Lord Hope of Craighead will share his judicial experiences in the House of Lords and as a Supreme Court Justice. In addition, the event provides a great opportunity for networking. REDA 2017: Regulation and Enforcement in the Digital Era is calling for papers. The bi-annual conference is organized by the European University Cyprus and the University of Cyprus. The event will take place on 16 and 17 November 2017 in Nicosia, Cyprus. Submission of papers in the field of data protection, copyright in the digital era, consumer protection in the online environment, cybercrime and internet regulation, are encouraged.
