Creative Costume Combines Spider-Man and Dragon Con Hotel Carpet
Dragon Con is known for being a cosplay heavy convention. It wouldn’t be Dragon Con if you didn’t see a dozen or so costumes you didn’t recognize. Since the event is spread between host hotels in Atlanta, Georgia instead of being set in a convention center, the hotels become a constant photo backdrop. Because of that, the Marriott’s former eye-catching blue and yellow carpet has been incorporated into costumes.
Volpin Props turned the pattern into a digital file that they’ve used for costumes and have made available to other cosplayers for free or for a name your own price donation. Jim Neff found a new to me way to use the design by incorporating it into a Spider-Man suit. The spider symbol and web shooters match the bright yellow accent color in the carpet pattern. It’s a creative and fun idea, which is enough to be featured, but Neff also made the whole suit.
