Guardians of the Galaxy Yondu Cosplay with Unique Details
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has inspired a popular costume for conventions since May: Yondu mashed with Mary Poppins. The blue-skinned character has a line in the movie that references the practically perfect in every way nanny, and I’ve enjoyed seeing how cosplayers interpret the mash-up. All the ones I’ve checked out have been different. Capt Cash added his unique Yondu Poppins stylings to the mix at San Diego Comic-Con.
Putting together the costume included making the hat and painting a 3D printed baby Groot to perch on his shoulders. He also made Ravager badges to wear and to hand out.
Please note the details Cash included. He built a speaker into the Mary Poppins bag (pictured below) and played music from both the Guardians of the Galaxy and Mary Poppins soundtracks from it. He also chose a light-up umbrella with a red handle to simulate the a trail from the handle, cleverly modeled after Yondu’s arrow.
Keep up with Capt Cash’s cosplay creations at Instagram and Facebook. He’s currently working on a Pickle Rick costume from Rick and Morty.
