Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Weapon Build

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has introduced a new batch of costumes and weaponry to the Zelda lore, and cosplayers have been diving in since before the game’s release date. Jechts is working on a build of Barbarian Link, and he’s crafting a Lynel Crusher to go with the costume. The Crusher is a massive weapon that is all about blunt force. Jechts is almost done, and as you can see, the prop is monster-sized. It’s taller than him.

He used rigid XPS foam (it’s pink insulation foam) to stack and then shape the base for the weapon. He explains about the PVC pipe running down the middle:

the pipe has some reinforcement internally from a wooden dowel at the hilt that’s the same diameter as the inner pipe, definitely recommend that for extra stability!

With the XPS shape in place, Jechts covered it with an EVA foam skin so he could apply barge and super glue to seal the prop without ruining the insulation foam.
