These Fantastic Maps Show the #SolarEclipse Totality Viewing Time Through Each State

From Oregon through to Missouri and eventually out to sea beyond the shores of South Carolina, where you are within the upcoming solar eclipse’s umbra will determine the length of time the eclipse will occur in your location; for example the house I grew up in St. Louis will experience a 32 second total eclipse but just a few miles south will experience a full one-minute eclipse, and many more miles south will experience a complete 2 minute 41 second total eclipse.

As the eclipse traverses the continental United States each locality will also experience the phenomenon at different local times. Great American Eclipse have done a fantastic job of creating maps – and even video animations – that detail each state’s eclipse traverse and timestamps:

Here are quick links to each of the state’s effected by this month’s Total Eclipse and their respective maps:

Oregon
Idaho
Wyoming
Nebraska
Kansas
Missouri
Illinois
Kentucky
Tennessee
North Carolina
Georgia
South Carolina
